A street in the lower part of Newport running towards the quay and the River Medina. Despite its name, Sea Street does not reach the sea but reflects the historical importance of the Medina as a navigable waterway bringing goods to Newport's quay. The street has a mix of older commercial buildings and some residential properties. The Quay Arts Centre, the island's main venue for visual arts and performance, is located nearby on the riverfront. Sea Street connects the town centre to the waterfront area, which has been regenerated in recent years with mixed-use development, waterside walking and the arts centre.
