Ventnor Botanic Garden
Park, Isle of Wight
A botanic garden in the Undercliff at Ventnor, occupying the site of the former Royal National Hospital for Diseases of the Chest. The sheltered, south-facing position and the mild microclimate allow sub-tropical and Mediterranean plants to thrive that would not survive elsewhere in Britain. Collections include plants from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan and the Mediterranean. The garden is a unique horticultural site and a peaceful place to visit.
