St Mildred's Church, Whippingham
Church, Isle of Wight
A parish church near East Cowes designed by Prince Albert in a distinctive Germanic Gothic style, serving as the royal family's place of worship when in residence at Osborne House. The church was completed in 1862 and contains memorials to members of the royal family. The architecture is unusual for an English parish church, with a tall spire and ornate interior fittings reflecting Albert's taste. Princess Beatrice, Victoria's youngest daughter, is buried in the churchyard.
