Brading Roman Villa
Historic Site, Isle of Wight
One of the finest Roman villa sites in Britain, with well-preserved mosaic floors depicting mythological scenes including Orpheus and Medusa. The villa dates from the third century and was a prosperous agricultural estate. A modern cover building protects the mosaics and displays artefacts found on the site. The villa provides evidence of Roman life on the island during the centuries when Vectis was part of the empire.
